Algebra Chapter 2 Test

Algebra classes will have a test on chapter 2 on Friday November 22nd. Students will brainstorm topics that will be covered in class on Tuesday to prepare to start studying. I will try to post a list of topic to study after students complete this task in class.

Pre Algebra Chapter 3 TEST

The next TEST in Pre Algebra will be Friday November 22nd. It will cover the second half of chapter 3 in the CC3 text. Any material that has been learned prior to this chapter is also eligible to be on the TEST.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school! I hope you are excited as I am to begin a new year and to continue learning algebraic concepts in 7th grade math. This year is going to be a new challenge for you, but you have to remember to keep up with your classwork, homework and organization in order to find success this year. Also, you are reminded to ALWAYS ask questions for clarification or if you do not understand something. You are welcome to ask during class, but can ALWAYS ask me or talk to me individually.

Algebra Take Home Mid Term

Algebra I students will be receiving a copy of the Mid Term Exam to be completed at home for a grade. Since we are not required to take mid term exams at the middle school, I wanted to take this opportunity to have students complete the material as a review and for a small assessment grade.

Students are to complete the material on their own and are expected to hand in packets on time.

Boys Basketball Announcement

(read Wednesday 2-6)

Yesterday in Bear Country, the 7^th grade basketball team improved their record to 4 and 3 and beat the Lions of Lower Moreland 32-20.

Offensively the Bears were lead by Ryan Coyle who dropped 20, and earned 7 of his points from the free throw line. Also scoring for the Bears were Jacob Villanueva, Kevin Walder and Josh Brown, who was 100% from the free throw line.

Defensively, the Bears played the best team defense they have played all season. Brett Brossman led the team in steals and blocks, while Jacob Villanueva led the team in rebounds…again.

Kevin Walder had his best game of the season finishing with 8 points, 2 steals, 6 rebounds, and held Lower Moreland’s best player to 8 points.

The Bears have one more regular season game next week at Cederbrook.

7th Grade Basketball Announcement

(read on Wed 1-30)

Yesterday the boys 7th grade basketball team earned another win and beat the Cardinals of Sandy Run 42-25. The Bears led a balanced attack and played exceptional defense led by Cole Kitchen who led the team in steals.

Other leaders included power rebounders Jacob Villanueva and Dawson Ruggles. Ryan Coyle led in assists and points finishing with 15.

Other scorers included Brett Brossmas, Jacob Villanueva, Brett Broderick, Brendan Olexa, Nick Donovan and Griffin Shallcross.

The Bears play tomorrow at Keith Valley and look to continue their winning streak.

Next week the boys take on Lower Moreland at home on Tuesday. Come out and cheer them on...don't forget your notes from your parents for Mr.Petrash.

Algebra I

Chapter 6 deals with systems of linear equations and inequalities. There will be a lesson quiz after each lesson, a mid chapter quiz and a final cumulative assessment.

As we continue through algebraic concepts it is important to recognize that the material will be increasingly more challenging. Please make sure to ask questions, ask for help, attend lunch time review sessions and STUDY!
